Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school!  My name is Kristina Kane, and I am the Visual Art teacher at Union.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year together in Art at UES!

Artists in grades 1-5 began the year by sharing their goals for Art class.  Students were invited to illustrate what they are most interested in exploring, working with or learning about this year in Art.  Students had many creative ideas and interests.  Our art curriculum will grow from these student interests, the Vermont Grade Level Expectations for Art, and our district learning goals.

Last week, we also welcomed the Kindergarten students to their first art classes at UES!  We enjoyed a guided discovery of crayons and took time to get to know each other.  This week we will "draw with scissors" as we explore the work of Henri Matisse and create collage artwork of our own.
